Where It Began

Celebrating the beauty of colour through contemporary sapphire jewellery.

I’m Chiara, the founder of Chiara Perera Jewellery — a fine jewellery brand inspired by my Sri Lankan heritage and my lifelong love for colour, craftsmanship, and gemstones.

Growing up connected to Sri Lanka, the “Island of Gems”, I was surrounded by the beauty and history of Ceylon sapphires — stones that have been treasured for centuries for their extraordinary colour, rarity, and character.

My love for jewellery began long before I ever imagined it would become my work.

As a child, I was always creating — drawing, designing, and finding ways to bring ideas to life. Looking back, I realise jewellery was always part of my imagination; I was fascinated by beautiful details and the stories that objects could hold.

Sapphires, in particular, captured my heart. Beyond their beauty, it was their incredible spectrum of colour that made them so special to me — from deep blues to soft pinks, vibrant yellows, and unexpected greens. Every sapphire feels completely unique, with its own personality, character, and story.

Through Chiara Perera Jewellery, I bring together the heritage of Sri Lankan sapphires with contemporary fine jewellery design, creating pieces that celebrate individuality, self-expression, and the joy of colour.
