Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 23rd July 2026
Welcome to Chiara Perera Jewellery. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, www.chiarapererajewellery.co.uk (“the Site"), and the purchase of products and services from us. By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or services.

By visiting our Site or purchasing from us, you engage in our Service and agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
By using this Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use this Site.
You agree not to use our products or services for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable laws.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access where these Terms are breached.
3. Orders and Contract Formation
Products displayed on our Site constitute an invitation to treat and not an offer.
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. After placing an order, you will receive an automated acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your order. This email is not acceptance of your order. A contract is formed only when we send a separate Order Confirmation email confirming that your order has been accepted and, where applicable, dispatched. For bespoke commissions, the contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of the commission and commence the agreed design process
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order before acceptance.
4. Our Jewellery
We offer two categories of jewellery.
Bespoke Jewellery
Each bespoke piece is individually designed and handcrafted to your specifications.
A deposit is required before design work begins.
Once you have approved the final design and production has commenced, bespoke commissions cannot ordinarily be cancelled or refunded because they are made specifically to your individual requirements.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, bespoke and personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation period once production has commenced. This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality.
All sketches, renders, technical drawings and design concepts remain the intellectual property of Chiara Perera Jewellery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Classic Jewellery Designs
All our jewellery is made to order and therefore please see return policy prior to purchasing.
5. Handmade Products
Every piece is handcrafted.
As many gemstones, pearls and precious metals are natural materials, slight variations in colour, texture, inclusions, dimensions and finish should be expected. These natural characteristics form part of each piece and are not considered defects.
Images on the Site are intended as an accurate representation but colours may vary depending on individual screen settings.
6. Customer-Supplied Materials
Where customers provide gemstones, heirloom jewellery or precious metals for use in a bespoke commission, we will exercise reasonable skill and care in handling these materials.
However, we cannot accept responsibility for damage resulting from hidden flaws, internal fractures, previous repairs or weaknesses that are not reasonably detectable before work begins.
7. Pricing and Payment
All prices are shown in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.
Prices may change without notice.
If a pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel an order before dispatch and issue a full refund.
Payment terms are as follows:
- Our classic jewellery and sapphire vault jewellery requires payment in full at the time of purchase.
- Bespoke commissions require a non-refundable deposit before design work begins.
- The remaining balance must be paid before collection or dispatch unless otherwise agreed.
Ownership of goods remains with Chiara Perera Jewellery until payment has been received in full.
8. Hallmarking
Where required by the Hallmarking Act 1973, precious metal jewellery will be independently hallmarked by an authorised UK Assay Office before dispatch.
9. Delivery
Estimated delivery dates are provided for guidance only.
Whilst we make every effort to deliver within the stated timeframe, delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon successful delivery.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or local charges payable in their destination country.
10. Returns and Cancellations
Our Returns & Refund Policy forms part of these Terms.
Bespoke and personalised jewellery cannot normally be cancelled or returned once production has commenced, except where required under applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
11. Bespoke Design Process
By commissioning bespoke jewellery, you acknowledge and agree that:
- A deposit is payable before work begins.
- Design approval must be given before manufacture commences.
- Minor design amendments may be accommodated where practical.
- Significant design changes after approval may incur additional charges and revised delivery times.
- Unless you notify us in writing before completion, we may photograph or film completed work for our portfolio, website and marketing materials.
